American Motors brand new, reproduction Clutch Rod with Plastic Tip for Throwout Lever. I did a very limited run of these, so get them while they are available.
The part was reverse engineered from an original, NOS clutch rod. It was blue printed, designed, and machined in the USA.
The main adjusting threaded rod is made out of a single piece of steel and was machined on a CNC for accuracy. The end that connects to the bellcrank/ z bar has an Oilite bushing installed. This was a design improvement on my part, as I could not pass by the opportunity to make it better. This bushing is made of bronze and is impregnated with oil to ensure a smooth operation. The original adjusting rod had a "D Hole" end, which lead to premature wear on the z bar pin. It also caused the D hole to wear into a round shape. This is when I decided to install the Oilite bushing and ream it for a proper fit to the pin size.
Included with this set is the adjusting threaded rod, (with oilite bushing), adjusting hex block/pivot, jam nut, plastic tip and the foam end seals. The plastic tip was made out of the same material as the original part (Nylon). FYI: the 1968 version of this adjusting block/tip was made out of steel. AMC changed it in 1969 to the plastic tip style. A metal tip on the metal throw out lever is not a good idea. Eventually the metal tip will wear into the throw out lever recessed area. The plastic tip is much easier to replace than the throw out lever, and prevents the metal to metal grinding which occurs on the earlier style.

The foam seal that goes between the tip and throwout lever is available separately in packs of two for $5. I will also sell an additional plastic tip to anybody that purchase a throwout rod. The tips are $10
