Panda King isopods!
Origin & Appearance: A dwarf-to-medium cave-dwelling species from Vietnam, featuring a distinct black-and-white panda pattern.
Enclosure: Requires a 6-quart plastic tub with low to moderate ventilation to trap moisture.
Climate: Thrives in warm temperatures (72°F – 80°F) and high humidity (75% – 85%). Maintain a moisture gradient (one damp side, one less damp side).
Substrate: Needs a deep layer (3–4 inches) of organic compost/peat moss mixed with rotting wood, decaying leaves, and calcium, topped with Sphagnum moss on the damp side.
Diet: Primarily eats decaying leaves and wood. Supplement weekly with calcium (cuttlebone), protein (dried shrimp/fish flakes), and occasional vegetables. They LOVE cucumber, tomatoes and sweet pepper!!
Behavior: Nocturnal, burrowing, and moderately easy to breed once established. Always use dechlorinated or distilled water for misting.
